Has the BG80P been released in the UK yet. Or will they be released at the All England's?

You can buy it from Tennisnuts.com for £86.40 Inc. VAT, however, I would wait until it is more readly available as you might get it cheaper.

BG80 power was officially released on 1 January 2012 although there has been no press about it – typical Yonex.

Anybody got any idea how it compares with BG80? Does the "power" do what it says on the tin?

BG80 power is far superior to BG80.

If you think it will add 10 mph to your smash then think again. It does play far better, hold its tension longer and in my book will consistently outperform BG80. That doesn't mean every player will like it. I still use BG66 Ultimax or BG65Ti however I tend to go with the softer string bearing in mind I use stiff racquets.

Thanks for the help. Like you said, I have found my tensions dropping quite dramatically with BG80 which is why I'm considering my options for future restrings.

It might take awhile for BG80 Power to become more regualerly available, so maybe try BG66UM till then? I have found BG66UM about the same as BG80.

I am still using BG80 at the moment, but that is because I am using up my 200m roll first, but I have tried out BG66UM for a little while so thats how I know.

Yep your right Paul, Yonex marketing is thoroughly confusing :S

A bit off topic, but I wonder if you know anything about the new Yonex Z-Force?

I can't quite put my finger on why, but I'm not that keen on the 66UM.

I know what you mean about losing tension fairly quickly on the BG80 but it's still my first choice.

I have noticed that leaving a newly strung racket for a couple of days seems to help a lot but that might just be in my head.

I might try stringing a bit tighter and leaving it a few days next time I get round to stringing mine
