Hello fellow players,

A recent addition to the ranks, I am a badminton enthusiast and player who competes at an intermidiate/advanced club level.

I hope to enlighten myself and others with the knowledge I have on the sport, although primarily i am an equipment specialist.

On the topic, I would like to request a racquet reccomendation: I have a limited budget of about £70 and want a racquet with

a fairly stiff shaft, head light and not weighing more that about 90g. I use my wrist more frequently than my muscles, if that counts

towards anything.

Anyways, it is a delight to join Paul's forum and I hope I will blend well with the love of the sport. Smile

Welcome along. I'm looking forward to your contributions to the forum in 2011.

I had a think about your racquet choice. From what you're telling me it's hard to find a racquet in Yonex range to meet the criteria you're setting. That said, some of the medium flex shafts are very close to stiff so it's worth having a look at those, which tends to bring in more racquets within your budget.

One of the best racquets I've tested that retails around £70 is Victor XT40 (I think that's it's new name). It was known as JS40 – Julianne Schenk racquet. It really is a fantastic racquet. It took me about 20 minutes to get used to it and then it was an absolute pleasure to use. Take a look at my review.

Paul

PS Let me know what you choose

Is this the racquet you mean? Also, is it strung tight enough that I don't require an immideate re-string?

I read your review and it seems like an exeptional racquet, one that i am much looking forward to playing with.

The racquet in the link is the only one I could find, but it differs to the picture in your review. Alternate colour scheme perhaps?

Cheers,

Na-Li

Yes, that's the racquet.
