Hi All,

I'm new to the forum, but been playing badminton for many years (more than I care to rememberWink).

Generally I'd be playing with friends and colleagues, but recently I have started to attend a local club, which hopefully I will be able to join, to push me harder and improve my game. I have never played in leagues and in fact this would be the first club I have attended. I consider myself an intermediate level of player and my intention is to improve to a more advanced level.

Cheers

Jeff

Hi Jeff

A very warm welcome to you!

Joining a club can be exciting, interesting, nervy and lots of other things as you get to play against players you expect know what they're doing. However, be warned that's not always the case and some are unauthodox. This makes badminton interesting and sometimes frustrating, but excellent grounding to learn to think the game. However, be careful not to copy bad habits just because they work for one player.

A good start is always to ensure you have an excellent serve. That and good positioning will help you integrate much faster.

Here's hoping you have a great time at your new club.

Also I'm looking forward to your questions and comments as you come across unusual events on court!

Paul
