Hi Paul,

If I remember well, the world championships 2011 will be held in England
during August right ? Is there any chance, you'll be present at this event ?

I've never been to a Badminton event so I was thinking about doing a little
trip in England next year to attend to the World Championships but I will
most probably be alone so it would be nice if I can meet someone I "know".

Do you know how to buy ticket for the BWC and how much it is ? (Yeah I'm
quite an ignorant haha)

Jonathan

PS: Hope this time I don't have to repost again haha. Thanks Angie ;)

Hi Jonathan, our club (I'm part of the administration) has organized the trip to the WC in Paris this year for our members. Kind of spreading the WC feeling, but this way nobody has to travel alone. Maybe you could sugest this to your club (or co-work with other clubs in the area) ? I think clubs can buy the tickets with a reduction from the VBL (yes I'm a Belgian too), and before tickets are available for all the rest ! You simply book them through the website. For Paris, this was arround end of Jan-start of Feb. when the site was launched. Be fast is the motto, a lot of interesed shuttlers out there !

Cheers, ED

Ed,

Thanks for your answer and I wish you a good and safe trip to Paris :) Enjoy the show haha.

To make it short as I don't want to discuss about the actions of my own club, they won't make it as there are not so many people who are interested in that kind of trip and there's no profit for them, it is as simple as that.

I would like to do it as I'm really passionated by the sport itself and its top players. My dream is to watch them in real live show and not on my PC screen all the time haha. The BWC 2011 is my chance and I'll try to get it. I hope that in 2011 I can still watch my favourite player playing haha. The prize isn't a real problem for me as I really want to go and watch the BWC and England is not so far from Belgium so it won't cost my eyes to go there haha.

Guys
I'm really pleased you're getting in touch to try and help each other.

I've not heard when the tickets will be available for 2011. I hope to go. As the date gets closer, it may be that we can organise a get together as it would be great to meet with you.

I will be going to All England in Birmingham so hopefully will see some of you there too.

Hi Paul,

May I know if there is a kind of low cost hotel in London where I can stay during the journey ?

As I'm a student, I may not have enough money to go and sleep in 3 stars hotels haha.–> Found the answer myself :)

Now the thing is to know how to get the ticket in time and how to go to the hotel when arrived in London :D

Jonathan :)

I've no idea. I think you need to decide what your budget is first and then have a look on internet.

I haven't booked a hotel for London yet as I'd rather secure my tickets.
