Well, there's quite a catalog of testing reports on Paul's site: go to Articles->All equipment Articles->…

And he has loads of experience in testing rackets. Still, keep in mind the choice of racket is personal.

Cheers, ED

You appear to gravitate towards head heavy, stiff rackets. Why on earth are you considering a Nanospeed 9900 in your list?

There are so few players favouring Nanoray Z Speed, and many reviews have been poor. So I question that choice as well. However, every player has personal likes and dislikes. PLease don't ask forum members to advise you on choosing a racket – you really have to do that part on your own. We can all provide an opinion but this isn't going to help you.

It would be helpful if you read my article on choosing a racket. From this, let us know what your current set of excellent rackets is not giving you. Many players look to purchase new rackets because their existing technique is letting them down and they feel a racket will somehow cure it. Sadly that's just a dream.

You really need to figure out what you want first and then ask which rackets perform well in this area. It's as simple as that. However, you may need to sacrifice something to get something and you have to choose what the potential pros are against the potential downsides of the racket you are considering.

Good luck

Paul

hey paul,

thanks for the reply..i read your article and t helped me a lot.

it is just that i have only used head heavy and stiff rackets..now a local coach in my club say if if i start using a lighter rackets …my reaction hand speed and my smash power will increase..this actually made me consider to get a new racket..otherwise i am very much satisfied with the 900P and the 700 Ltd..i have always been playing with it and neva changed to anything else..

so now after the coach said that f i start using a lighter racket my hand reaction speed and power will increase..so this made me thinking whether it will actually turn my game one more step ahead.

In theory your coach may be right, however this does not mean it is the correct racket for you.

Whenever a players uses a head light racket after playing with head heavy, there is an immediate increase in power through faster swing speed. Over time this can diminish leading to a weaker smash.

Yes, defence etc will improve as you can move your racket faster but this may not be a particular weakness in your game.

Overall, I consider a player should stay away from head light rackets unless they have the natural genetics for power, or they are so happy to settle for a less powerful smash on the basis that prefer the benefits that improve other parts of their game.

It would make sense to be advising you to consider even balance rackets like Arcsaber range or a slightly less head heavy racket. try those first and let us know your thoughts. If you don't like them then try head light. If you don't like head light then stick with what works best for you.

Always remember that nobody can accurately guess whether a player will like a racket or not. Your coach is trying to help you but he cannot be certain you will like the light headed rackets.
