it’s all about aspiration, isn’t it?

Like Paul said, choices are appreciated, albeit not always agreed.

i found 1/fortnight training helped out my awareness, movement, and shot stability on top of 2-3 casual sessions. i’ve pretty much have & looked for option in every single day to join different sessions around my area. Just need to pick and choose which day i can play.

there are more things that i needed to fix before i can compete in B grade local comp. so if you can practice 1/wk, that is good. i’m 33, and eventhough it’s very late for me to improve and wanting to compete with the low open level people, if i don’t start now, i will never get to open level or even compete with better players. So far, i found that smash from typical A graders can be returned although not always comfortable.

I’m frequently disappointed at the narrow-mindedness in clubs these days where games rule rather than training and learning. That said, coaches are so scarce these days because they are coaching children so resources are thin for experienced players. i think that’s why those players that want to learn come along to my coaching weekends.

It’s a shame as I know some players really wish to improve and are silently frustrated with the attitude in clubs. I can also see the point of players who just want to play and are not interested in getting better. But i still believe these players want to win against good players and simply don’t know what it takes to make the changes they need.

Paul
