Phil
Please provide us with feedback on how this is impacting your on court performance. After all, getting fit is one thing. Sustaining it becomes the next challenge but you've also got to feel and notice the difference in your activities.
So the big question we want answering is what's the impact on a badminton court. I'd also like to know how this regime has impacted on your overall wellbeing.

Hi Phil
Seems that you are struggling with the regime at the moment. Personally I have found that exercise for exercise sake is a real chore so fair do's to you.
It may be that your body is telling you that you have reached the end of your programe and maybe changing to a less severe maintainance plan would be more beneficial.
As Paul says we all want to know the benefits to your game.
Keep up the posts

I played last night and intense games. I felt fine, no probs. I can keep up my fast movement for longer, I dont seem to get tired on court as easily although the sweat still flies off me.
I havent played hard singles yet which is the real test for me but I cant imagine it being much of a problem.
In general I feel better, have more energy, eat whenever I like and what I like. I wake up most mornings at 6.30am feeling fresh providing I get good 7/8 hours of sleep. Feel loads better for exercising this intense and I have a good 4 pack abs lol.
Doing the insanity is so much harder than badminton. It tears you down to the point you cant keep going whereas with badminton, I may have gotten tired, I could always keep going.

Woooooooooo Hoooooooooooooo. Then I will do a recovery week and try the asylum 1 & 2 in a hybrid so that will be another 2 months of fun and something different!!

I just wanted to add on this, that sweating and being fit have nothing to do with each other as such. You sweat as your body is trying to maintain a certain temperature and not because you are unfit (as many do think) or over weight!
I found this out over the summer as I was sweating far too much for my liking but when thinking about it, I sit in an air conditioned room all day at work. I then leave work where it's absolutely baking outside. Then I play badminton! So for my body to go from cool for 9 hours to extreme heat, it's no wonder I'm sweating loads as it's trying to cool the body down from over heating so quick. I believe that if I had been outside for those 9 hours, I wouldn't have sweated as much when it came to playing badminton.
Just my 2p though
Also, if I may be so bold (), whilst I admire you for trying to complete the whole course, there is part of me that wonders if it really is worth completing the whole course. It's good that you feel like you can play for longer, but skipping will do the same thing. I just wonder if this course is a bit extreme and for more of a professional sports person? And I also think that once you have completed it, you will still need to do certain things to keep that fitness that you've worked for. I'm not trying to put you down, as I say, I think you have done really well to get this far. But the last thing I want to read is that you are thinking of quitting badminton again for what ever reason. In my opinion (not that you asked me for it! ), just find a balance with badminton and life. If you do too much on the badminton side, life gets effected and then you might want to stop playing badminton again.
Sorry in advance if my post isn't wanted here! I'm just trying to look out for you

Thanks for the reply Peter.
I have badminton firmly under my control now. It has stopped being an obsession of mind, rather now a past time which I enjoy. I play max 2 times a week if im lucky. 1 day a week is still good enough for me.
I now have a fiancee and we almost have a house bought so badminton is firmly in its place. I used to live for it. It was the reason I couldnt wait for the next day to leave work and go play. It was too much. Now I am enjoying it even the odd time I do play badly, I still laugh.
But I have found myself reaching a new higher level and my consistency at this high level is very good. I seem to play well 95% of the time which I am very happy with.
I want to get fit because I know at the end of the season with singles and with the leagues, I dont want to regret giving up and thinking, “am so exhausted here and thats why am being beat, wish I had kept at the program!!”
Asylum is tough but shorter which suits me down to the ground. Just want to finish Insanity as I have quit this program and another 1 in the past and I am not quitting the 3rd time!!
