Hi Phil

Sorry about the achilles. Paul's right you need rest. Make sure that you do plenty of gentle stretches on the achilles during the day to stretch the tendon out.Be very careful and remember, if you have a bad rupture of the achilles you are looking at surgery and at least 6 months out. Sorry to be a moan but 2 of my friends have had achilles ruptures whilst playing badminton and it's a nasty injury.

Good luck and don't overdo it !!!!

We are getting there but not quite yet! Its better and with the 1st few moves, I thought great, its basically gone with only slight feeling but as the moves went on, i started feeling it more so I just stopped!

Am not going backwards on this. Thanks Paul and Rogerh. Am so close which is annoying! Maybe I should stay off til Sunday and try again. That will be today and tomorrow off. I will do the recovery workout here now as theres no cardio/bouncing movements

Just did The Cardio Recovery workout which is all deep muscle work with yoga in there also. Good burn on the legs and core. I will try and Kenpo X tomorow which is a P90X workout. Its cardio but not intense. When i tried it ages ago, it was always very easy so im hoping it will be easy on my achilles.

Phil

If it was me I would stay off until Monday and give your body the chance to heal. There's always the other exercises that do not impact your weak area.

Might be an idea Paul. Today is supposed to be rest day so im taking it! We went a small walk last night and it was better than before. Aint felt it yet today but aint done nothing.

I may do cardio recovery again tomorrow which always feels fine on the area. If it feels 100%, Il do the workout but I may be tempted to leave it til Monday.

Well I decided to take Pauls advice and take today off also. My achilles feels good and I probably would have gotten awa with it but no point in risking it.

Going to do an hours stretching rountine from P90x and go a walk later on today and start into this bad boy tomorrow morning again.

Next week was supposed to be a full week of recovery but because ive had a fair few days off, im going to only take a half week of recovery instead to catch up a bit

Phil

It would make sense then to take a few more days off rather than catch up tomorrow. Why not wait until Wednesday and then leave the recovery Thursday-Sunday? This way you make absolutely sure your minor injury has had time to heal. You of all people know about injuries, healing and rest.

What I might do Paul is I have badminton to play Monday and Wednesday. I will go to these and play. Take a rest on tuesday.

Finish off month 1 at the end of this coming week (2 days to go) and do a few days of the recovery week and go straight into month 2!

Going to go a walk later on and go a wee run every now and again during this walk but I know my achilles feels better.

The problem with insanity is the explosiveness of the workout and the multidirection of it. Badminton is not as intense although it is mulit directional also but I will test it out on monday and see how it feels.

Today is Test day for this achilles. It feels 100% the past day or 2. But I aint done much on it but I am confident playing badminton on it tonight for doing the odd shadow badminton footwork.

Will let you all know tomorrow how am getting on. If all goes well, I will be getting stcuk back into INSANITY again on Thursday and getting month 2 started.

Achilles still 100% so I play again tonight & I hit this insanity hard again tomorrow morning time. No more lay ins or being lazy. Its time to kick this up a gear in the morning time and get this programme done.

2 more days of month 1 and we start month 2!
