Synthetic shuttles

For me personally I really struggle clearing end to end with plastics. Feathers? No problem. Use plastics and I barely get them 3/4s or even half way at times but feathers I feel I can do so much more with.

I think you speak for the majority of players. If I was playing with plastic shuttles then I would have a racket strung around 19/20lbs to give me as much help as possible.

 

The issue with plastic shuttles is the speed – I've said this so many times. Players do not take accessories to weight them to increase the speed and very few players will take different speeds of shuttles with them. So this means you are victim to the conditions of the day.

 

I would have weights in my bag to ensure I could change the speed to suit the conditions. If I knew a hall always played slow then I'd take medium and fast to try. If I knew the hall played fast I'd take slow and medium speeds with me. For the cost of plastic shuttles, combined with durability, it seems so obvious and simple to me.
