This will depend on a number of factors
1) how many hours you play per week
2) how particular you are about maintaining the same tension in your racquet.
Even during the stringing process, string is stretching. So, whilst your stringer has set their machine to read “23lbs” as soon as they have tensioned the string, there is some elasticity in play which means the string is only tensioned to 23lbs for a second or two. This means that the stringing tension is not actually the playing tension.
What is important with stringing is consistency. So don’t ask your stringer for a playing tension. When you ask for 23lbs, it’s more important that you get what you think you should and your racquet plays as expected. As long as your stringer gives you the same experience every time then stick with them as good stringers are hard to find.
In point 1 I mentioned time in play. It’s totally logical that a player who is on court 6 hours per week will, most likely require a restring more often compared to a player who plays 2 hours per week.
If you find you break a lot of strings, then discuss other options with your stringer. It may be you need a thicker gauge string or just need to test an alternative. This will depend on whether you like the feel and control aspects of the string you have in your racquet. If you do, then stick with the same string and recognise that the downside to the string you enjoy playing with is that you need more restrings.
If you’re not too bothered about the feel you get from your racquet, then it’s worth testing a thicker gauge string to see if it has greater endurance properties.
Hope this helps.

I test strings frequently.
I’ve got BG85 in my Arc8DX at 24lbs. I will be testing again with BG80 at 24/26 lbs and I also need to test Nanogy98 at the same tension.
I tested Ashaway Zymax 67 and whilst it was pretty good, I didn’t like the increased string movement.
I love BG65Ti however, my favourite string is BG66 Maxima. Shame we don’t have that in UK.
I’ll probably stick with BG80 as my preferred string choice as it’s easy for me to get hold of. I do wish to test other strings in order to discuss with players and other stringers but I’ll see how much time I have.

How is the BG85?

The string just snapped in my racquet – cross string broke in the centre.
It’s a nice string although don’t feel it’s as good as BG80. It’s a thin gauge string but doesn’t quite have the repulsion and feel characteristics as BG80.
I am testing BG80 at tension 24/26 in my 8DX next. Had it strung on Thursday so will test it out next week. I’ve added Victor 850 to my test list as I hear it’s as good as BG80. If it is, then you’re in for a bargain as it’s considerably cheaper than BG80. It’s used my most of the Korean players.
After all my testing, I am going back to BG65Ti. It’s a string I’ve always loved but I want to test it against these other strings to decide whether it’s still got all the qualities I like.
I’ll keep you informed of my tests.
To your success

Thank you for the response. In Belgium we don’t have Victor strings so I couldn’t test that.

Hi everyone, I have to change my opinion about BG-65 Titanium. After one month and a half of game, I'm feeling very comfortable with it especially in front of the net. I hope it won't break just before my next tournament as I'm really happy with it now. Unfortunetaly, I won't be able to keep BG-65 Titanium as my main strings as I've bought a bobin of BG-80 but it seems that BG-80 has the favour of most of the members on this forum. Paul, you were right haha...once again 😀 Jonathan
