Hi everybody,
Has anybody already tried Forza rackets? Because I found Yonex a little bit expensive.

Hello!
My opinion may not be taken in account as I don’t have the experience for testing racquets as Paul haha.
But there’s only one racquet I can advice you to try : it is the Forza Nano 35000 SL.
A friend of mine is currently using one and he loves it more and more haha (he owns three racquets of this model if I remember well). Moreover, most of people who were adviced by him and who played with it, like it very much. It is not very expensive and it is really worth your money. It is around 65€ but when I got mine I paid 52€.
It is a very versatile racquet, you can do every shot with it without a doubt. I have one for myself as well but I’m using it as my back-up and I’m still playing with my Yonex Armortec 600 as I’m very satisfied with it. But I’m sure that when I’ll need it, it will be ready in my bag for action.
The original strings can be use immediately but you may want to change them for something more appropriate with your game or whatever reason you will find to change it LOL.
There’s one little problem, it is an “old collection” racquet of Forza so you may have some problems to find it.
Finally, I will tell you what Paul has written for every test he has done. A racquet may be very good but it will depend on the player. You have to feel comfortable with it and then, buy it if you think it will be your next weapon in Badminton LOL.
Anyway, be sure that Forza is very worthy, it may not have the same reputation as Yonex but it is still reknown. Check their new catalogue for this year if you want a more modern racquet than the nano 35000 but don’t be afraid to switch to Forza.
Hope it will help you.

Hi Jonathan
Can you tell a little bit more about your Yonex AT600?

Forza is a growing brand in UK. I understand former England International Steve Butler is in charge. Whilst I haven’t met Steve personally, he has a superb reputation, nice guy, good coach.
The brand is certainly making inroads to the younger end of the market, possibly due to good marketing, bright colours and good products at good prices.
I haven’t tested a Forza so cannot discuss their quality. Likewise I haven’t tested Li Ning although I know many that have and not been very impressed.
The other brand that has caught my eye over last 2 months and gets very little press is Victor. They now sponsor Korean team so their products must be world class.

Just an aside here re: some comments about AT600 in this thread . . .
It’s a racket that makes badminton “easy” in my view. With a long and flexible shaft, a heavy head, and a light weight frame, it helps a player execute a hard smash whilst not compromising on defence. The shaft length + flexibility gives the racket that “whippy” feel, whilst the heavy head adds more “umph” to a smash. The overall light-weight of the frame obviously helps it maneuverability, thus aiding your defence.
With a current online price of under £80, this racket fits the bill in more ways than one in my view.
As for the Forza discussion: I met with Steve Butler a few years ago now and put many Forza rackets through their paces. Although I can’t speak for their current range, my overwhelming conclusion about their rackets then (must’ve be around 2005 I think) was that they were good, solid rackets without being spectacular. There was just some finesse missing if that’s not too vague a description.
Then again, in terms of colour finesse at least, Yonex have hardly hit the jack-pot with their latest Ltd Edition versions of the AT900P, ARC10 and ARCZ have they?! (I’ll admit that the ARC10 Ltd doesn’t look too bad, but the others – eek!)

I echo Ali’s comments. AT600 is a superb racquet. From memory, this was my first 5 star racquet although I chose another to use personally.
My thoughts about this racquet haven’t changed. Whilst new racquets have been introduced in Yonex range, not many have or will surpass AT600 for all round quality and ability.
My personal favourite at the moment is Arc 8DX. Most of you will have seen my review by now. The racquet continues to grow on me and every time I lend it to a player, I always get really good feedback.
I’ve only recently seen pictures of Yonex latest limited editions as described by Ali. Liked AT900P in gold but not so sure on Arc 10 in white. Z Slash in red looks rather dull if you like current colours.
Forza isn’t a brand I know anything about although I am aware Steve Butler heads UK division. I haven’t met him personally, but he’s got a terrific reputation and certainly knows his badminton having represented England on many occasions in the past.
It’s fair to say that Yonex is probably the most expensive brand in the market. This allows other brands to make their mark and that isn’t a bad thing. Competition is good because it allows us to have many different opinions and hopefully, with so many racquets to choose from, we’ll find the racquet that suits us best.
