Yes AT600 is a great racquet. The closest racquet to AT600 is AT900 Technique. Whilst is has a stiffer shaft than 600, the balance is pretty close. 900 Power is more head heavy so there’s a massive difference compared to 600.

If you get the opportunity to play with both then do so. You could also consider getting a spare for AT600. And then there’s the Arc8DX…I think I better stop now!

For now, I will spare the money little by little to be able to buy (a) new racquet(s). It will be for next season for sure (even if my mother doesn’t like me to do so hahaha Laugh).

I have two choices in mind. First, I’ll buy a set of two AT-600’s. It would be a wise choice, I guess. As I’m very familiar with the AT-600 so I know how to modify it to suit all my requirements. I will also get a little discount for buying the same racket twice. For 250€, I will get my rackets ready for action. I hope there will be also another discount on it as the racket is from an old collection. I will have 3 AT-60’s, 1 Forza Nano 35000 SL (still not used it) and my Victor Beryllium 3000.

For the second choice, I’ll buy only one “top of the range racket” which will cost me around 150€ but it will be without testing the racket myself. So this is kinda dangerous and economical nonsense. But I really want to try and use as much rackets as I can.

I’m quite interested in the 8DX or AT-900 T as I have good opinions of them from friends but for myself, hope I can be able to test before.

Whilst it’s not easy, it’s always best to test a racket first to ensure you like it. So many players swish them around in a sports shop, sometimes unstrung, and they play nothing like the initial feel in the shop.

It’s a shame that only a few retailers invest in demo rackets for players to test. But, they have to pay for them so I can understand that too.

I know I’m in a very fortunate position, but only because the retailer I am connected to purchases demo rackets. I’ve lost count of the number of rackets I’ve sold through demo sessions.

I looked on Yonex UK website and there is only me in UK organising demo sessions. That’s sad.

Good luck Jonathan and let us know which racket you choose.

Hi all,

I had the same problem, but I have a good understanding with my supplier, and he trusted me and gave me 2 rackets (240€) to test. I played 2 evenings in the club, and one training session. No problem. So I guess, going to your local supplier, where they know you, shouldn’t be a problem. Else, consider to search for another supplier ?

Hi

I’m gonna buy an AT 600 instead of a Forza racquet.

Good luck Jonathan and let us know which racket you choose. Don’t worry, I will haha. But you will have to wait as I’ve said, it will be for next season. That means September 2010.

Wow you’re very lucky. If I remember well, the only moment when I can test rackets, is in tournaments. This year, with only three tournaments…well, I don’t really have the occasion to try anything. Even if I could, I guess it would be for two minutes of play on a court for some shots but nothing like you can do. So I don’t think I would be able to decide myself just with a few shots. Moreover, it is not sure that I will get my hands on the racket I would like to test. I suppose they don’t move their whole shop with them. haha

So I guess, going to your local supplier, where they know you, shouldn’t be a problem. Else, consider to search for another supplier ?

In Belgium, there is only one great supplier (Lardesport for those who may know). I live in Brussels and going to the supplier would take me at least 20 minutes by car. So, nearly impossible to go to talk to them or ask them to lend me rackets. I can only order articles and ask them to send it to me or attend to tournaments and hope they’re present.

Changing for another supplier would have been a solution if only there were other suppliers in Brussels who could propose a large choice of rackets.

Fortunately, when I buy the AT 600, I was well adviced and read the review of Paul (haha) before otherwise I would have had some troubles with it now. But I had to change the strings before playing with it. So this time I was lucky to have the good racket but what would it be for the next one.
