Just wanted to post my experience of searching for a new badminton racquet.

I was lucky to get Paul  to do a demo session for me as i was having difficulty finding a replacment for my age old Prince racquet. Made the wrong decision to buy a Yonex voltric 7 based on specification only and although I think it is not a bad racquet (my favourite of the voltrics) i was missing a lot of returns due to the head heavy balance. I mainly play doubles in my local league although I do play the odd singles game.

So I was looking at the top end rackets so i tested the Voltric 7, 70, 80, Z-Slash, Nanoray 70, Nanospeed 6600, Nanospeed 9900. (think there was another arc saber or amortec in there too). I was really amazed at how instantly you get the feel for the right raquet when you can test them all side by side. I realised that my style of play was much more suited to the head light racquets of the nanoray and nanospeed. After a long test i decided that the nanoray 9900 was the clear favourite for me. I found no reduction in my smash speed while i was able to get that extra 10% of returns back that i would miss with my voltric. After using the racquet for nearlly 2 months now i have no regrets with my purchase. I would never buy a another racquet now without testing them side by side again. thanks Paul!Smile

Yes, the session was a lot of fun. Just watching your face as you tested each racquet was interesting.

As you say, it's amazing how quickly you can feel the differences in racquets when testing them side by side. Fortunately you had the luxury of being able to do this which many players do not.

I have in thr past taken demo racquets to Lilleshall but it's not that easy with the amount of stuff I have to take.

I would encourage players to test as many racquets as they can to get a feel of what is best because you never can tell which racquet is going to suit your game. And that, my friends is why I won't recommend a racquet to a player even though I am asked every day to tell them which would be the best for their particular style of game.

Thanks for this post and I'm delighted the racquet is continuing to please you.

Paul
