Just a thought but if you are struggling with clears, have you not tried changing your technique? I followed the advice that was given to me in the beginners section about clearing to the back of the court and I now have a new problem, I can't keep it in!
Also, when was the last time you restrung your racket? Have you tried different strings or tentions? I ask as I have been using BG80 at 24lbs for ages and have been trying BG66UM and there is a bit of difference on how they make me play. Many people have said my drop shots have been much better but my clears not so. I am still trying out this string but am tempted to write a review (when I get a chance) of what I think of them and to get other peoples feed back.
But I don't see why a new racket it needed personally. It depends on how you play but I find most people get caught up in the “I'm getting a new racket!” when they don't really need one. Why fix something that ain't broke (in terms of racket weight extra)? As nice as it is to buy new stuff, are you sure it will solve your problems? Is half of the battle is in your head? When you get beaten, you go looking for answers, but maybe you are asking the wrong questions? Just my 2p!
Yonex have changed the Nano Speed range in my opinion. Nano rackets used to be light and head light, but I was looking at the rackets in the Nano range at the All Englands and they seem to have made them slightly heavier. If you go to the All Englands, take the time to go a racket from each of the range that they do. Yes there are slight differences but they are nearly all the same. OK its different to holding a racket to playing with a racket but it's mostly marketing. How can last years racket be deemed rubbish and this years even better than ever? It's the same with everything you buy like washing powder! Enough rambling, I think I've made my point.

Well, basically the speed. Its pretty much the fastest racket i have ever used. Most of the people in my club who play doubles love fast games. Everyone tries to amaze each other in doubles with the power and speed they have. This slazenger racket seemed to be the perfect racket. But for singles, it didn't seem to have what i want. I rely on accurate smashes with this racket, but can't seem to get them on the floor fast enough. I got the VT70 because it kept some of the speed from the slazenger, but had more power.
My old racket, or the first racket i ever got was a nanospeed 300, which i got in Taiwan. My dad also got himself a new racket, as his old one was, OLD. He got the slazenger, but he recently found out he had some sort of muscle degeneration. So he can't play badminton ever again! He gave me the racket as everyone else in the family was hopeless at badminton, otherwise they were too old. I began to get attached to the slazenger, and moved away from the nanospeed. I used the slazenger for 1 year, and i then got the VT70. Which i guess the VT70 will definitely do for now.
Also, i was thinking of replacing the grip on my VT70. I wanted to put a thicker and heavier grip, to get a bit of balance as it is a head heavy racket. What grip would be best?
Thanks again

As you can imagine, there’s no such thing as best grip.
If you have very sweaty hands, towelling grip seems to reign supreme. If you like a grip with “stick” then there’s so much choice.
My go to grip at the moment is Yonex Tacky grip. It’s the most “sticky” grip I’ve ever used and a bit thicker than Grap. It’s going to be available in UK and Europe from September.
