Hi, I'm an intermediate Badminton player and I recently found this amazing site and thought you could help me.

I play both doubles and singles, and I prefer being aggressive and smashing the shuttle, but also retreating and playing defensive for a bit.

I've got 3 rackets over time, and they are the Yonex Arcsaber 003, Wilson (K) Strike and a Yonex Voltric Z-Force, which a friend got me for christmas very recently.

I'm currently playing with the Arcsaber, and I'm going to try out the Z-force when I'm training next.

Any recommendations on which Racket I should use?

If you like being aggresive, smashing and play singles I'd say have a look for a head heavy racket, it'll give you a bit more oomph. If you play at an intermediate level I'd also say look for a medium flex racket as it will allow you to hit harder a bit more easily for the time being.

Remember choosing a racket is an entirely personal choice, it's whatever feels good for you, so trying as many different rackets as you can will help. Don't get too hung up on what people tell you you should like and what a good racket is.

Final point, don't think you need to spend hundreds to get a good racket, anything £50 upwards will be a good racket and you don't even need to spend that if you don't want to. I personally won't spend more than ~£70 incase I break it!

Rob

Very good advice.

Please refer to my article on chooing a racquet.

Good luck with Z Force. I would suggest you look at my videos on armchair exercises.

Paul
