Hi All

I'm a strong club player and my primary racket for the past few years has been the MP99. I still have this racket for now but I have a small crack that's worrying and I'm unsure how long it will last.

Therefore I'm thinking nows a good time to get a new racket so I'm ready for that fateful day when my beloved MP99 breaks but as it's no longer produced I'm unsure of a good replacement from the current line of Yonex rackets available.

I seem to prefer stiff rackets that have some weight in the head, my spare is an Armortec 600 and although I play well with it it doesn't feel as natural as my MP99. I'm also starting to practise and play more trick shots but I seem to get decent control from my MP99 on these but if theres a similiar racket that's better in this area then that would be ideal.

My current thoughts are either the Armortec 8DX or the Voltric 70 so I'm after some thoughts on if these seem sensible replacements or there are some other rackets that I've over looked that would be ideal. I'm keen on staying with Yonex as they've been reliable to me over the years.

I get the feeling that the AT900 P / T would be good as well but I hear they are getting discontinued shortly so I'd prefer to go for a racket I know will be around a bit longer.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Paul

From what you're saying, it may be that Voltric series will suit you. That said, Arcsabers are good too.

All I can say is that you need to test and find what works for you. I remember MP99. It was a very popular racquet although I didn't like it at all. Having played a short time with it I got a sore arm – something I'd never suffered with before.

It's so easy to throw suggestions at you but the bottom line here is that we're not you and therefore how you feel and like a racquet is completely different to every other player.

Good luck and let us know what you choose.

Thanks for the feedback, I've just found out in fact that a local store does demo rackets, so I'm going to take the 8DX and Voltric 70 out for test runs and see how they feel, as you stay it's all down to personal preference.

I will let you know how I get on and my thoughts on which racket I prefer.

Cheers
Paul
