Hello all,
Can anyone advise what are the current replacements for the Yonex Nanospeed 6000 and Arcsaber 7 please?
Both are my preferred racquets and having just snapped the shaft of the arcsaber after 3 years of loyal service I would like to replace like with like best I can.
I’ve bought the arcsaber 11 with BG66 Ultimax @ 23lbs but its just not quite ‘right’ for me.
Thanks in advance
Martyn

Hi Martyn
It’s always difficult replacing old favourites and very often the new racket ends up as a compromise. Even if you manage to find a close match to the spec, given differences in material and construction, there’s no guarantee it will play the same. You may have to settle for the closest and learn to love it.
If you live in the UK I have found this link

Don’t know anything about them but it may help.
Also Central Sports are excellent repair specialists http://www.centralsports.co.uk
Good Luck

Thank you Roger,
Good advise.
I’m finding that with the arcsaber11, by stats its exactly what I want, by playing it, its so inconsistent and dull, I’ll spend more time with it and maybe change the strings. I saw on that website you listed above the nanoray 800 + 900, they would be worth me trying, damn expensive way of finding the right racquet 🙁 why oh why does no one do racquet try out days anymore 🙁
Interesting that they have so many of the older racquets available, best I research them a bit before I commit to anything.
My trusty arcsaber 7 is so far beyond repair 🙂 it has snapped the shaft at the base where it exits the control cap, when I say snapped, its shattered a section about 3 cm long and splintered. it took me a few seconds to figure what had happened when I was standing there with the grip in my hand but missing the entire shaft and head which were ten feet down the court! :O
I can only assume that 3 years of play and a flexible shaft on the Arcsaber 7 finally gave way to fatigue in a spectacular way!
***can I throw in a related question***
I had the Arcsaber11 strung with with BG66 Ultimax @ 23lbs, Can anyone offer a best guess at why I am inconsistent? and why the racquet feels dull in use?
Thank you for the link and advice, gratefully received
Martyn
