Why exactly are you after a second hand racket and what sort of racket are you after?
E-Bay is OK to by rackets as long as you know what your doing, though I would agree that many are fakes and if they are not then they are genuinely the same price that you could buy from a proper outlet.
Browning rackets are quite cheap and good rackets to buy, you could try the Oxylite Ti racket, only £30 odd I think. If your not happy with your current racket, you could also try getting it re-strung, it is cheaper than buying a new racket and saves the hassle of finding the “right” racket.
Hope this helps,
Pete

Thanks for your post Peter but you haven’t read my post properly. Here is the crucial part: “popular websites/forums for SELLING second-hand rackets.”
So just to reiterate, I do not want to buy any racket and if I did I would stay clear of rackets which are £30 considering I am a county standard player 🙂
Hope this helps,
Mark 😉

Ah right!!
With you now! Sorry! Yes my bad for not reading your post properly. I sold a couple of rackets on e-bay that I didn’t want. There are people out there that do buy them, and if you do a decent write up, should sell OK. Though the rackets I sold didn’t sell for a lot of money but the rackets were cheap in the first place so I said in my advert ideal for beginners. If your looking to recoup most of your money from the racket then it might prove trickier BUT that said, if you say your selling racket as you don’t get on with it (if that is the case) then you may get a buyer anyway. Plus, with e-bay, you have seller and buyer protection and things so you know the deal will go smoothly.
Hope this helps better now I understand (finally!)

The only site I know where players sell racquets is Badminton Central Forum. However, with an international audience I’m not sure how well it would work.
Ebay is very difficult as it’s flooded with fake racquets from China or Hong Kong sellers. Virtually all Yonex equipment is fake including much of the clothing. There are a few UK sellers who are genuine but it must be a struggle for them competing against these silly prices and inferior goods.
I’d rather keep this forum clear of posts selling racquets as it’s not the reason for the forum. At the end of the day, I want to help you improve your badminton and answer your badminton questions. But, if forum members would like an area to buy/sell then let me know. If there are enough members wanting this service, then I’ll consider it again.

Hi Paul,
It’s a shame that there isn’t really a good trusted outlet for players to sell and buy equipment.
Whilst I understand where you’re coming from with regards to the intended purpose of this blog, I think many members would benefit from having a dedicated forum for buying/selling, like on the Badminton Central website.
Anyway let’s see what others think.
Thanks,
Mark

Dearriba, I would keep an eye on http://www.directsportseshop.co.uk/
They are quite cheap compared to other sites and sometimes have some great discount sales.
They have a good delivery and I haven’t had a problem with any products I’ve purchased from them.
Another site to tab is http://www.nobessports.co.uk/
They unfortunately have a limited selection of racquets but also cater for different brands, if you’re looking to experiment a little. My first high end racquet (AT900Tech) was from Nobes Sports and after the frame broke they even agreed to replace it free of charge (only paid a small sum for delivery)!
Personally I would be nervous about buying a second hand racquet, even from badminton central. As a forum they won’t have any kind of system where you can get your money back. Best to either buy from someone you know or just save up a little more and get a brand new racquet.
Happy shopping!

As stated in one of the posts before, and I made the same mistake as you, he is looking to SELL his rackets and wants to know where the best place to do this is.
I would pick E-Bay over a forum because as you say, there is no system with forums whereas with E-Bay you have buyer and seller protection along with Paypal security.
Either that or ask around, adverts on sports centre notice board?

Jordan, thanks for all the advice and taking the time to respond, but unfortunetly you’ve missed the point completely. Please read my original post.
