Spec changes

Hi everyone,

I’m writing this to ask advice from you people who have tried not only different rackets, but different specs altogether.

I’m
thinking of switching from my NS8000 to AS10. I’ve been looking around
and am completely sold out on my choice, but I want to make some other
major changes as well.

So I’d like to know how most of you have
coped with switching from a 2U to a 3U racket. I remember accidentally
getting a 3U at one point and hated it, but that was one of my first
rackets, and so far I was still used to playing with crappy lumps of tempered steel
with floss for strings. I’d like a lighter racket because I think I’d
like the feel, but I would like to hear your experiences from making
such a paradigm shift.

I also have gotten G5 grips, but I tend to
put a few layers of grip tape over the factory grip to make it
comfortable. Being a singles player I don’t tend to shift the height of
my grip, so I’m considering changing to G4. Got any personal stories
along these lines?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Marc

In UK we have very little choice. Generally we get one grip size and usually 3u version only. Most Yonex racquets are either G3 or G4.

Very few UK readers will be able to help you here because of the lack of choice.

I think your main consideration will be switching from a Nano to Arc10. Both are good racquets. Hopefully you can try Arc 10 before you make a switch. After that I suppose the only consideration is whether you choose the slightly lighter racquet.

Let us know whether you make the switch and what issues you had to overcome if you do.

To your success

Paul
