I've been playing with my Z Slash for a while now.  I recently broke a string and dusted off my 'old' Musclepower 100.  After a few games I'm realizing that while the Z is extremely quick on my defensive game, I'm losing a lot of punch on my attack.  I want a heavier headed racket than my Musclepower, but I'm not willing to go as far as a Armortec 700.  I'm leaning towards the Armortec 900P, though I'm intrigued by the Voltric 70.  I've swung a At900P, but not the Voltric.  Which do you like, why?

I've got a Voltric 70 and can't find a fault with it.

More power, more control, outragously quick, less effort for most shots and it's really pretty and manly at the same time.

Paul has the new Voltric stuff so it's worth waiting for his reviews of them

I have it on good authority from paul that the up coming Voltric 80 is a little bit heavier in the head than the 70… and potentially a little stiffer too. Thus, I think it should resemble the AT900-Power in terms of balance. Potentially a very powerful racket methinks? The voltric 70 was powerful enough…

Thanks for the replies guys.  Yea Simon the V70 has me intrigued but the word 'quick' pops into the despcription frequently and that kind of worries me.  My Z is 'quick' and I think that is a negative for me.  (My timing STILL isn't quite right).  Perhaps it's OK since its got a little more head weight to it, but I'm not sure. What were you playing prior to your V70?

Matthew, any idea when the V80 is available?  Don't know if I want to wait.  It's bad enough I need to wait a day or 2 to have it strung!!! lol

The Voltric plays very different to Z Slash. The timing issues with the Z Slash are a combination of factors which includes the smaller head.

Voltric is standard head size and I haven't heard of a single player having timing issues with this racquet. However, I've heard so many stories of players struggling to adapt to Z Slash that they sold it and moved on to another racquet.

Thanks Paul, that is interesting news.  Perhaps I'll wait 'til the VT80 comes to town.  Sounds like its similarly balanced to the AT900P, which is what I'm looking for.

Just got off the phone with my shop.  They tell me they're expecting the V80 this coming monday.

I was using a browning cti75 til a couple of people on these forums pointed out it's faults.

I've only been using the VT70 for 2 days and it's solved six of the things I wanted to improve in my game, never realised just how much difference a racket could make.

The strongest part of my game has always been the defensive side so I'm really hoping I'm more suited to the 70 otherwise my kids are getting an unexpected present and I'll have to fork out more cash.

I didn't think the 80 was coming out until the end of april and there's no way my patience would hold out that long, waiting a week would have been pushing it

Marc

As I understand it the racquet is being launched next week at All Englands.

I met with my Yonex rep last Tuesday. As of that date only the samples were in the country. Unless there is a communication error here I don't expect Yonex will be shipping VT80 until after All Englands and that's if they've arrived in UK.

I'm not saying your local retailer is incorrect, just giving you the information as I was told direct from Yonex.

Thanks for the heads up.  I'll set myself on be pleasantly surprised if they arrive on monday then. I am in the states, if that makes any difference.

If they are a few weeks out, I may just pony up for the AT900P.  The few swings I've had with one were by no means disappointing.

I hear ya Simon, had I not played with my second racket I wouldn't have seen how much harder the Z was making me work for shots that seem relatively simple.
