Hi guys,

I found this website y'day and just love this place. Like the discussions.

I am an intermediate player likes to play power game, slowly trying to improve my net game. Currently using Muscle Power 5. I am thinking of getting VT 9. Any of you guys tried this? I couldnt find reviews for this racket anywhere.

Could you please post comments on this racket?

Thanks,

Bhaskar

Hi Bhaskar,

Not tried the VT9. Have tried the VT70 though. I believe that all the Votrics are head heavy and from what I can find on the Internet the VT9 is on a medium shaft. Paul has reviewed both the VT5 and VT7 – guess this will be of similar ilk. £85 puts it firmly in the mid price rackets (half the price of the VT80). On paper it should be a good racket but that depends on whether you like it!! Best to beg or borrow one to try.

Voltric 9 is brand new to the market. In UK it was launched at All Englands and therefore is just about arriving in shops now.

VT9 is a stiff shafted Voltric, made in Taiwan  and therefore has a price tag which is deemed more paletable than the top-of-the-range racquets. It'll probalby sell around £80-85 from memory.

I think it's one of the most stunning graphically in the Voltric range. It's not going to be as head heavy as VT80 so may be a good compromise if a player prefers a stiff shafted racquet but doesn't want to spend over £100.

I haven't played with the racquet although had one in my hand at All Englands. It's very nice but can't say how it plays right now. I'm not sure whether my retailer is buying the racquet as they haven't sold many Voltrics lately. I think this is just down to the number of players around who continue a fixation that lighter racquets provide more power, which just isn't true.

Anyway, it's certainly one for everyones watch list.

Paul
