Don't get me wrong, I just said that I had similar problems as those that Paul described in his review of the Z-Slash when I first played with my Voltric. But I think that's more because I haven't ever played with a racket with a longer shaft, by now I'm totally used to it (took me like 2 playing sessions, so not a big deal really) and now I love my Voltric, I can really only recommend it.

Still, it's always best to hold a racket in your hands before you actually buy it, so if you get the opportunity, don't hesitate.

Fair enough Yves.  I imagine the racquet is going to be awesome, my experience with Z SLash was so eye opening that I now listen for things like “timing issues”, because unfortunately I was never able to get mine worked out.   Have fun with your new racquet, and please keep your review ongoing.

Interesting comments here. I didn’t have a single issue with this racquet – not a single mis-timing problem at all, otherwise I would have mentioned it.

For me the racquet played like a normal racquet in terms of timing and yet was just better all over. The only issue with me was that I really wanted to test the racquet again with better string tension. I’ll get that chance tomorrow! Can’t wait.

I’d love to be using it this weekend during my residential coaching weekend. However, there is a queue from players and coaches alike waiting to get their hands on it.

My retailer contact is letting me have all of their Voltric stock for the weekend, in case anyone wants to buy one. I can’t believe how generous they’ve been.

We should also bear in mind these racquets may soon be in very short supply because of the Tsunami in Japan. I expect there are going to be severe delays with shipments because of the terrible situation in Japan.

The Z Slash for me was a different animal. It was unforgiving. Just when you think you’ve got it right, you go for a big hit and mis-time the shot – very frustrating. I’ve never experienced that before. Usually I can get accustomed to a racquet within a few shots.

Hi Paul,

Any idea when the next of the Voltric range will come ? (You're right, for now the Japanese people will have other things to wurry about. Let's all not forget that.)

Thx, ED

Hi Ed

We now have 4 models in Voltric range. Bearing in mind three have only recently been released and VT70 was released end November 2010, it’s too early to expect any more, especially with the tragic events in Japan.

There is going to be a degree of re-building and nobody knows at the moment how this will impact on racquet development.

Let’s be happy with what we’ve got. If you want to support Yonex at the moment, the best way is to purchase something.

In the short term, we don’t know how supplies will be affected. After all, Yonex manufactures in a number of countries. So basically, it’s just too early to tell how the world supply of Yonex goods will be affected.

Hm ? 4 models ? I've must have missed something. I only know of the V70 and the V80. Their website only displays these 2 models. Just curiosity.

There’s also VT5 and VT7.

At All Englands VT80 got all the glory. However, 5 and 7 are both very good racquets. I’ll be reviewing them very soon.

My friend was interested in the new rackets and, as so many others, picked them all up to see if they felt right in his hand. I think he liked VT70 best, and VT80 least, ranking the other two as very nice as well.

What sort of price range do the VT5, and VT7 fall into?

Awaiting your verdict eagerly, Paul. The price tag, but above all, where they suit in the graph and what spec's they have. For my son, a 70 or 80 is overkill and way out of my budget for a 13-year old.

Rather strange, on the yonex.com only VT70 & VT80, on the yonex.co.uk indeed also VT7 and VT5. One would think the mothersite has all the latest info.

Thx, ED
