I’m currently testing rackets.
Used Yonex Nanospeed 9900 last season. Great for many aspects of my game but I felt that my smash had suffered. Returned to my Armortec 900 Power and it felt like great and improved my smash. Missed the speed of the Nano for defence moreso than net work.
Because of this, I’m testing AT900 Technique and really loving it. I was very close to choosing this racket before.
I’m also going to re-test AT600 as it was my first 5 star racket and I’m also waiting for the new Arcsaber 8DX before choosing my racket for next season.
So, at the moment I’m in limbo but rather enjoying the AT900T to be honest whilst waiting for the demos to test.
Whilst I have the luxury of testing demo rackets, that’s only because the retailer I am linked to buys rackets for demonstration purposes. i don’t know of any racket manufacturer who provides free issue demos.

I must say that im really jealous…its my dream to test rackets..
ive only tested few rackets and that’s the reason of why i buying so much rackets (but i test them and then sell them)
very little experience with yonex rackets…only tried the Arcsaber10 and the AT900T and some shots with the AT700 oh yeah and the super racket of yonex: Muscle Power 100 <- the best racket ever.
if someone want to send me his racket for testing, i will be very happy

I use a few different rackets depending on the game. I usually use Yonex Armotec Power 900 for doubles (smashes are just awesome), a Karakal SL70 for mixed and a Yonex NS9900 for singles.
I use the Karakal for mixed as I find if I use a heavy head racket for mixed my arm gets too sore from driving the shuttle. Also I find the light racket lets me change racket direction much faster allowing me to intercpet the shuttle better.
For doubles I usually find myself at the rear court as I have a good smash. So I use a Armotec Power 900 to get the maximum benefit from that. Not the most mobile of rackets but I love how stable it is for firing down smashes.
In singles I was trying to get the best of both the above. A fast nimble racket and has a decent punch. I thought the sacrifice of power for some maneuverability was worth it and this racket doesn’t disappoint. This is an even balance racket and very stiff.
Have a couple of other random rackets lying about mostly some Yonex and Carlton rackets.

I currently use a couple of Yonex AT500. Why? Because they feel flippin’ good to play with. I did have 3 the same but sadly, one came off worse in an argument with a concrete court.
As I like these rackets (I have no idea why…they just seem to suit my game better than any other I’ve played with) and they appear to be the only one of the AT range that Yonex no longer make, any ideas what I could try with a similar feel and set-up?

Currently? I’m using the Yonex Arcsaber Z-slash that I got last christmas. Absolutely in love, I’ve tried a lot of high end rackets and none have made such a difference as I have noticed with my latest addition.
I haven’t really ever thought about any other brand of racket too much, but I suppose that’s the Empire’s fault 🙂 However, I have been looking at those new Li Ning rackets, although it’s hard to test them out in the UK so I don’t know when I’ll be getting one.

atm i’m using the Arc10. for me, its overall feel is awesome. it took me a while to get the right combination of string and tension co’z i was a former RSL user and always stuck with the BG65@26lbs combo.
i’m more of a net player (doubles guy), and tbh i thought i made a wrong choice coz i initially had it strung @ 24lbs, ‘coz i was afraid of what might happen if i didn’t follow the recommended 24lbs. it was too bouncy for me, ended up getting most of my net shots killed
then i said to heck with it, it’s a high end racket. it should be able to take it and the pros probably string at higher tensions. so i had it strung to 26lbs and i must say, it plays like a dream! net shots stay low and go where i want them to, and when i happen to be @ the back, smashes are ok. i believe it’s more on my lack of technique rather than the racket’s fault, ‘coz when i do get to hit the sweet spot and get the timing right, they’re almost unreturnable (for my level of players, that is)
like Paul said (from what i remember), the Arc10 is an all rounder that does everything well above average. it’s up the the player to stretch the limits.

I’m using an Armortec 900T, well above my capabilities (I’m not a proffesional player), but I’m very pleased with it. The 700 is too heavy, and the MussclePower33 I used before, my clears ended up in front of the back double service line. With the 900T, I can reach the end of the court easily. But indeed, as a not professional player, it is not that simple to get test rackets. But my supplier trusted my, and gave me a 700 and a 900T to test. I played 2 evenings in the club before returning them. No problem. So, having a good relationship with the salesman can move things a bit.
Cheers !
I use an Arc 7. Certainly a better racket than I’d need, but I love to play with it. I tried various other Yonex rackets that were available to me (Armortec 600, MP 55) as well as some Wilson [K]Factor (Tour, Pro), but when I knew I had to play my best I reached for the Arc 7, so that’s the one I stuck with. I play most consistent with it and it’s comfortable. Also it feels faster/more maneuverable than the other rackets I’ve tried.

I’ve owned and used quite a few rackets from carbonex 8 sp, ti-10 1st gen, mp100, mp99, ti-5, carlton as-1 and etc.
Ti-10 1st gen, i must say this racket is a heavy gunner, you can easily send bombs to your opponentsm broke it due to too high tension. Too bad they newer generations have changed quite alot.
Carlton As-1, really love the super stiff shaft, powerful yet can control was there. Same thing happened, broke due to high tension.
Currently im using Arc 10 ( bg-85 @ 28lbs) as my main racket, it’s a gift from a bunch of friends for me before a tournament. It’s not as powerful as ti-10 1st gen, but it does help me alot with my placement. Just like Soda13 said, it’s an awesome all-rounder, though i can still feel there’s a lacking in smash power but hey, smashes doesnt always gives you points . my days being a super offensive players are over i think, i suffered from a ACL tear 3yrs ago, so im more of a defensive and deceptive player now, and somehow im enjoying this style of play..
Feedback from the racket is noticeable, hence you can easily judge on how much force you wanna imply in every shot. Clear are accurate, even-balance makes the racket easy to manoeuvre, helps in the defense department( also helps you to do fakes easily ) Highly tempted to try the new Arc-Z, been reading few forums and reviews for almost a month now, highly tempting i must say, but im having a tournament in 2 weeks time, might not have enough time to adjust with really well, so will stick with my dependable Arc-10 for now.
Just my 2 cents.
