Hi,

Was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what type of strings and string tension would be best when re-stringing my Yonex Arcsaber 10?

I'm looking for as near to maximum power in smashes as I can get, whilst still retaining the feel of touch shots.

I'm an intermediate player with good racket speed.

Thanks

Adam

Mine is strung at 24 lbs with Yonex BG65 and I'm pretty satisfied with it. It's hard to judge how hard it should be strung for you, we don't know how good you play, but as an intermediate you should be fine with 22-24 lbs (check out Pauls article on string tensions). As for strings, I'd recommend BG65 or BG80, the former is more durable while the latter allows for a slightly better playing feel.

Adam

Have you had this racquet strung before? If not, can I assume you bought it from new?

Factory stringing is generally between 16-20lbs tension. You need to test in small increments of 1lb until you find your ideal tension. Then when you’re happy with this, test different strings at that tension and see how they play. Eventually you’ll find your ideal string and tension.
