Hi,

I play once a week with some friends from work. I seem to be putting im a lot of effort but not getting any results. Are there any books/videos that explain technique and movement in simple terms?

I need to speed my footwork up and can’t get the hang of hitting the shuttle hard, is there a technique to this?

Cheers
Rich

Hi Rykard

You have the biggest challenges right now as you’re trying to learn so many things in order to establish your base skills.

Work on your overhead technique first in terms of preparation and hitting. There’s a lot of good video on youtube right now. Look out for videos on forehand clear and get that right. Then you’ll have better technique to work on other overhead shots. There’s a good Korean video on preparation and overhead technique. You don’t need commentary as you can understand the princliples very clearly.

Good luck Rykard and let me know how you’re progressing. If you still get stuck, email me and I’ll see what I can do to help you.

As I said before it's good stuff although extremely hard to really understand because subtitles are not very good.

If you really want to work on a video series that has more than Zhao's program, then you should check out my Online Coaching Program. This is very different because you can have a say what you'd like me to cover next and I'll review your performance from videos you can send me. This way we get to work on so many good issues in a year.

Take a look and register soon.

Bottom line here guys is that if I didn't believe in it, I wouldn't have bothered spending 8 months writing, learning about online video, video editing and a ton of other stuff just to get the infrastructure right. I really do think that what i have to offer is something that's not been done this way before.

i agree with that line..

IMHO, most trainings that are really beneficial (physically&mentally) comes from unusual ways or even simple ways- like the hammer exercise, and the tie and stone,. most clinical methods (like Zhao Jianhua and Xiao Jie's) requires training hours.. Well, not all of us here are that athletic to do so,. some of us here, like me, (money and budget wise), likes the simplest,non-expensive methods that may equally or even surpass the benefits from clinical methods, in the least time..
