Thought I would share my experience.
FINALLY got round to reading Stu's article a few days ago (a mixture of finding the time and knowing that I need to sit down and read it properly and understand it).
A great article and what an improvement. This is the missing link between using the correct grip and technique (squeezing on impact). It felt strange (and still does) at first, but it's very easy to feel the extra movement you get and how much easier it is to hold the racket relaxed and to squeeze on impact.
Why is it a great article? Well it keeps the information to a minimum without losing important information (reminded me of my goal for my badminton guide), and directs you to look elsewhere if you want to know what grips to use for what shots, rather than list them in the article. I managed to understand what Stu was saying from reading it the first time round, and believe me, that's some doing! And the pictures were very helpful.
I tried this grip tonight at club night and what a difference. Yes it felt strange and I messed up a few shots, but I also played some very good shots effortlessly! It is definitely something that I will keep on doing till it becomes normal, no matter how many games I may lose in the process!

Apolgize for taking it long to report back. I am taking a break from badminton for the whole April but anyway here is what I found when experimenting with the grip.
First, I found that my grip kept “slipping” during fast hard swing (think clear and smash). The handle would “slip” such that the-tunnel-that-should-be-there was plugged.
Second, using my usual grip (gripping in the hand) I actually had no problem squeezing for the power.
I am not ruling out the chance that I might hit harder and better with a corrected grip though. Any feedback?

Paul, thank you for the reply.
I wish to clarify a few things here in order to get more understanding (I wish to correct my grip):
1) Backhand grip, thumb. The face of the thumb is put on the flat part of the handle. Correct?
2) Forehand grip, thumb. Is it the face of the thumb or the side of the thumb that is put on the flat part of the handle?
3) After determining that above, which part of the thumb to put on the handle? Head, joint (that boney part), or that space below the joint?
4) Finally for the “wrist”. Do you mean wrist snap or forearm pronation?
