Like me, i only play sundays for matches. So during friendly matches i try to push myself a get the difficult shots like standing as close as to the service line as possible and reach for a flick serve or pounce on a shot serve. I may mean losing the game but i know im improving my game.

Ive found there are 2 types of players out there. There are those who jus want to play, they may want to improve but cant be bothered to do anything about it and those who want to improve and are willing to do something about it. Ive only met a few of the latter.

Consistency is the key to anything in which case on court practice helps. Drills of court are favourable but this can be done on practice nits. A goal has to be set such as, im going to serve low 9/10 and try to get it tight or am going to do a lot of drop shots this session to get the practice in. What a lot of people dont understand esp with learning sumthing completely new is practice nits is the time to do it!!! If u lose, its no big deal, the players may not be the best so it gives us greater chance sof getting the skill correct.

For example, I tought a mate of mines the footwork for the overhead shot cause even any slight shot on his backhand side, he played a backhand shot which got annilated!! Once i showed him the footwork, he did it and got it up to a point but he still looked awkward with it so i told him to shadow it and stuff. He had a chance to play at a practice nit and he said he wasnt goin. I asked why not and he said cause they were crap and he wudnt get good games but i knew it was the perfect time to practice this new skill, this overhead shot and footwork as they wudnt push him as much as better players.

Take advantage of every situation. Playing with better ones will def improve a players game as it forces us to improve and equally playing with weaker 1s gives us a chance to try out new shots, new footwork, new skills. Am currently working on deception and playing with weaker 1s gives me a good chance of playing these shots a lot cause I ahve more time and less pressure.

There is also a lot more as well but thats my 2 cents lol

Phil

You're gonna love the highly advanced hand work I've been doing over here, especially in returning serve. I've discovered so many things about returning serve and the real key to mastering the return. Boy, it's so simple and yet so effective.

Phil

At the moment I'm not making any videos as I just don't have the time.

I will be explaining all that I've been working on in March. It's so simple and yet so effective!

You'll just have to get yourself over here in September to witness these breakthrough techniques!

Paul

PS Nice photo, good to see a few faces on the forum instead of mine.
