hi guys

I’ve just recorded a video on this topic. For now I’ll keep my response short

1) check out basic shots like clear, backhand clear, net, smash etc. Are they good, consistent quality or inconsistent?

2) How well do they move around court? Any area where they struggle e.g. round the head or backhand corner?

3) What style of game are they playing e.g. fast attacking, laid back defensive, good mix, impatient, counter hitting only? (knowing their style helps you decide your tactics to beat them)

4) Players have favourite shots from certain positions. What are their favourite returns from deep forehand, backhand corner, net area, return of serve?

5) Anything unusual e.g. they’re left handed? It’s amazing how many players don’t notice until too late in the game.Or they have great deception from backhand net area.

6) Fitness, do they look very fit, hardly breaking a sweat or are there signs they aren’t very fit and a long game could take its toll on them?

Good luck in your tournament. Email me if you want more help.

To your success

Paul
