Hi people.

New to the forum here and looking for some advise please.

I have always played with a Armortec 500 standard factory string and tension. The racket broke a month ago and i bought a replacement Voltric 7.

When i bought the racket i had the option of free string upgrade and tension. I am completely new to the string as i have alway played with factory strings.

I bought a BG80 with 22lb tension. This upgrade is a eye opener.I have noticed the sound and power increase. But i wanted to know the perfect setup please

Can anyone recommend the ideal tension to play with plastic Mavis 370 please. Also the ideal string if possible please.

I only play singles and need smashing power and clearnace from the back mainly if that helps.

Many thanks in advance

The usual advice when playing with plastic shuttles is to keep your string tension low (22lbs is fine). The impact with plastics is much heavier (hitting feathers feels comparatively crisp and effortless), and a lower string tension absorbs some of the shock, which helps you to avoid injury and string breakages.

As far as string type goes, the usual rules apply – use thinner strings for performance, or thicker strings for durability. Strings tend not to last as long when you're using plastic shuttles, so it's generally better to go with a thicker string, unless you don't mind having to restring often.

Thanks Sketchy for great advice.

Depending on the standard of player I generally suggest maximum 20lbs as it's more than enough for most players.

Thanks for the great advice guys.

I read 1 of pauls review before i ordered my racket and stated that factory strings are about 18lb so when i ordered my over the phone i suggested 20lb( just a little extra than factory) but the stupid sales lady insisted that 20lb is too lose for playing and suggested 22lb.

Being new i took the ladies advise.

The string does sound good and get power if i can hit the sweet spot.

On the next re-string i may drop down to 20lb

Thanks
