Hi all
What a week. International badminton gets better and better.
Personally the standard of this competition has never been higher.
So many highlights throughout the competition.
Post your highs and lows and get a dialog going on the state of world badminton.
My high
Marin kept a lid on it, almost and proved what a great player she is without the verbal intimidation.
Multiple nations involved throughout.
My Low
Sometimes the commentary was drowned out by a great enthusiastic crowd. Gill and the rest of the team do a superb job with insight and analysis. Don’t sell them short You know how loud it’s going to be, adjust you levels or don’t bother with a commentary.
Your thoughts on all the matches.

Good topic.
I watched a good portion of the YouTube footage over the tournament.
Highs:
I’d have to go with the SF XD match with Zhao/Zhao v L Natsir/T Ahmed. This matchup never fails to deliver amazing games and this one certainly didn’t disappointed. The absolute heartbreak when Ahmed missing a sitter, hitting into the net after an lengthy rally on match point in the 3rd end, then going to on to lose in setting…Amazing match though. The highest quality mixed I think I’ve ever seen.
I’m really not Marin’s biggest fan due to her lack of gamesmanship and general rudeness on court but she’s certainly doing something right and oh boy, can this girl move! Her footwork and alertness is second to none.
I was particularly impressed with the English lads (Ellis/Langdrige) in the Men’s. They ended up getting knocked out in the QF’s by the eventual winners, they gave them something to think about though, losing in setting after being up in the set for so long! A bit of a shame not to take them the 3rd end but a great game to watch.
Low’s:-
Another world championship goes by without seeing gold on Lee Chong Wei and Lee Yong Dae’s necks 🙁 Makes you wonder if they’ll ever achieve world championship glory??
The English XD paring, Chris and Gabby Adcock pulling out before the QF’s because Chris was “sick”?? 🙁 A real shame as they we’re playing well and had a great chance at a medal. Not quite sure “sickness” can be the whole truth here as they were on fire less than 24 hours before that? If I was feeling sick and was in for a playoff match for world championship medal then I’d personally play on and take breaks to throw up on the side of the court when I needed too 😉 , At least give it a shot!…anyway I’m probably being really unfair but it was a bit quick and not very believable. Perhaps an injury cover up? Who knows??
I see what you mean about the commentary, I love the atmosphere when they play in Indonesia but yea, maybe a notch up on the sound outlay wouldn’t have gone amiss.
Rio 2016 will take over from the world championships next year and what a line-up we’ll have and maybe even a chance of GB getting involved in the medals this year!
