Hi to all, hope your all well.

I knownPaul before coming across his website. It taken me so long to have a look at it as have been busy as my family numbers grow. I hope to share my experience with you all, whilst I’m not a coach or in fact a fantastic player, I do know roughly what I should be doing but Paul has many more tips and ideas that all work. I look forward to sharing ideas with you all and hopefully helping some of you answer your questions no matter how strange you think they are. It’s one of those funny things that you don’t talk to your fellow badminton players about but if you did you would probably find that we all experience them, we just don’t talk about them! Laugh

As you can probably gather, I like to waffle on so you may have to resort to reading to the whole of my posts before you find anything of interest. Laugh

I’ve never had coaching, mainly due to lack of time and also lack of money, so everything I know has been researched for free and purely for the love of the game. People like Paul help the rest of use, improve our game immensely without asking for a charge. And to be fair, when you sit back and think about everything you find out on here (free of charge), you could probably pay a lot of money on coaching for the same information (and sometimes wrong information too!), so much respect goes to Paul for all his posts, blogs and videos. Though, if you can, I would recommend training with Paul as I do believe there comes a time when coaching in person is better than reading about it, could be the slightest thing your doing wrong, but for people like me, this is the next best thing.Cool

Over and out (for now)……….

Hi Peter

Welcome aboard!

So your family is growing – you kept that quiet! Many congratulations, boy of girl?

Yes, me and Peter met last year on a badminton stringers course in Milton Keynes. It was a good day even though I was late as I couldn’t find the venue!

Peter has some useful insights into the game and is generous as he’s prepared to share them.

I really do enjoy reading everyone’s comments because it’s amazing what I learn or re-learn from them.

Looking forward to sharing a few more ideas with you Peter.

Paul

Hi Paul,

Don’t know if it’s a boy or girl yet, got about four more weeks until it arrives. Still not finished badminton guide yet, just need to do a front page and a back page and then try and start distributing it, maybe put a copy on your website? I have been holding off e-mailing you as quite a bit of catching up to do so need plenty of time to write the e-mail!Laugh

Hows you and your clan? You must be very busy of late, keeping up todate with everything must be a bit of a nightmare for you.

Glad you have posted written blogs on here as well as the videos as the videos are no use to me without subtitles!Laugh And no, that is not a hint to sort some subtitles out, I’m only sayingLaugh

Peter

Very busy here at the moment.

The Big Secret is complete and ready for launch but we have delayed due to other projects which are connected.

We’ve been busy putting other software behind the blog which is part of the infrastructure for the Online Coaching Program we’re currently filming. We’ve filmed one so far and it’s got to be edited. I’ve another 3 written which we need to film and edit. Each video takes around 12 hours from start to finish so it’s a mammoth task.

The Online Program is the biggest project I’ve ever taken on. It’s a continuous coaching program delivered by video covering every topic I can write about to help badminton players improve, from intermediate to advanced level. We still have some technology issues to solve and need to invest in another camera in order to get the videos as I want them. I believe this will be the biggest badminton coaching program in the world and on top of this, I am looking to create another element of this that’s never been done before. It will not be available on general release and none of the content will ever appear on my blog.

In addition to all of this going on, I still need to update my blog with new content. Whilst I have a lot to say, choosing a topic is sometimes the hardest part.

On top of all of this, I have my business to run, and two small boys to entertain.

So, life is busy, but it’s fun and rewarding which is the important part. I’m not a big TV watcher thank goodness. Most of my TV time is spent watching badminton videos and dissecting the top players techniques and tactics.

Pete, have you had time off? The amount you have written would suggest you’ve far too much time on your hands!Wink

Just checked how long this entry is…errr, I’m off now!

Paul

I have done a few big posts, but doesn’t mean I have the time! Wink

I have been using my lunch hours and breaks at work to help others on your forum. Juggling my time at the moment. Have just finished my guide, which I have e-mail you about.

Once I get that underway then I may have more time to reply to some posts on here (and probably end up annoying a few people on the way!SurprisedLaugh)

I promise I will give you an update soon Paul, like yourself, I have been busy. Especially after writing my rant about the All EnglandLaugh

Your site is looking good, loving what you have done so far.

Talk soon,

Hi to everyone who is reading this!

I couldn't find a suitable place to post what I wanted to post so I settled for here, not sure how much viewing it will get here but hey ho!

Anyway, some months ago, someone at my badminton club passed away suddenly. The club did a book in which people could contribute if they wished. I had a go at doing a song and I thought that maybe I could share it, not in the sense that it's fantastically great, but in the sense that it is something different to post on these forums as most posts are informative or asking questions (although nothing wrong with that).

Anyway, hope you enjoy the read, maybe you will guess the song that I modified!  Laugh

Is this the real life?
Or is this just a game?
Caught out at the very front
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the ceiling and see...
I'm just attacking, I need no sympathy,
Because I hit it fast, hit it slow,
Hit it high, hit it low
Any way the opposition goes, doesn't really matter to me,
To me
Mama, I just smashed it down
Hit the racket against the shuttle, pulled the trigger,
Now it's out
Mama, the game has just begun...
But now I've gone and thrown it all away!
Mama, oh oh ooooh
Didn't mean to hit it out,
If I'm not getting it in this time oh no,
Carry on, carry on as if my shots don't really matter
Too late, my game is done
Sends shivers down my spine,
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye, everybody, I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind to pick up the points
Mama, ooh oh ooooh, I don't want to play anymore
I sometimes wish I'd never played at all!
I see a little umpire of a man
Scaramouche, Scaramouche
Shall I do those fine trick shots?
Cross court like lighting,
Very, very frightening!
(Galileo) Galileo (Galileo) Galileo, Galileo Figaro
Magnifico
I'm just a poor player and nobody loves me
(He's just a poor player from a poor club
Spare him his life from this monstrosity)
Easy shot, easy shot, will you let me smash?
(Let him smash)
Bismillah! No, we will not let you smash!
Bismillah! No, we will not let you smash!
(Let me smash) Will not let you smash!
(Let me smash) Will not let you smash!
(Let me smash) Ah
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
(Oh mama mia, mama mia) Mama mia, let me smash!
The opposition has put a shot aside for me! For me! For me!!!
So you think you can lift it and laugh in my eye?
So you think you can lob me and let it die?
Ohhhh baby, can't do this to me, baby
Just gotta smash it down, just gotta smash it down right outta here
No shot really matters, anyone can see...
No shot really matters, no shot really matters.....to me
Any way the opposition goes........

Absolutely fantastic.

My daughters go to an after school club to play music, I've given them a copy and they're looking at putting something together to record it for me.

Will let you know if they sort it out.

It would be really great if your daughters manage to do something, I hope they do!

I am looking forward to it already!

I hate to sound impatient, but I was just wondering if there was any progress on the song? Is it actually happening? Would be brilliant if it did, I reckon it would be a hit in some of our other badminton loving countries! Cool
