Hi everyone. I have just crossed that 40 threshold, life starts here, so now I can start living ;o) Or perhaps I can at least start playing badminton better. I have been playing about 6 years and for about 5 of those years I had been playing mostly panhandle although I did (and do) use a propper backhand grip. In the last year, after being pretty inspired by going to the All England I decided to get some coaching to improve my technique. It has been great and has opened up a whole new world of things to learn. My footwork is improving and I am getting a better overhead technique. The backhand clear is a tricky shot for me and usually lands midcourt somewhere with predictable results… I shall be trying some of the suggestions in the backhand article and see how that goes. I have also been doing the corkscew motion Paul showed on the smash video so seeing that was an immediate help. I love the game and can’t get enough of it but I can be frustratingly inconsistant at times. Some nights I play pretty well other nights I am truely awful but I suppose that is the way of things. Anyway, great site Paul thanks for sharing your knowledge, it already has been very helpfull and long may that continue! Smile

Congratulations in your progress so far and for recognising the huge value of coaching. Thank you for your kind words too. My coaching weekend is ideal for players like you who really want to learn.

I hope my blog and forthcoming online coaching program will continue to be of great value to you.

To your success

Paul
