Hey,
I’m a 28 years old Badminton player and coach from Germany. Playing for 22 years now and coaching for about 9 years.
I was lucky to grow up in my federal state where alle the coaches are trained by a former German national coach… so my technical education was quite good…
I stumbled upon this site through a twitter follow from Paul 😉 The latest smashing article is quite interesting with lots of hints to look for. It’s great to see what and how other coaches teach, their intentions and thinkings behind the scenes. All this is quite important to not be restricted in one’s thinking…
Last year I had a training lesson with Christain Mitgaard from Denmark. That was a great experience which gave my overall Badminton skills a boost to the next level…
When I’m not on court I work as a Web-Developer in a German marketing agency. Or playing Paintball to get some extra adrenalin 😉
Till next post!

Hi Tim
It’a always good to have other coaches on this forum. After all, the idea here is to share views. Usually I find that when I talk to other coaches, I spend a lot of time on the court testing afterwards.
All I ever look for is one thing from a coach and it’s been an invaluable meeting/discussion. I also find discussions with coaches great for swapping stories, getting ideas for drills, learning how they solved certain problems.
We all love this sport. Sometimes players have no appreciation of the time us coaches put into our sport. There’s always a lot of studying, plus making sure we think of all the players we work with to ensure we look after there welfare on court and usually off court too. However, when we see a player use what we taught them in a match, then it’s the most satisfying feeling!
So welcome Tim. I’m looking forward to reading your posts in the future.
Paul
