hi to everyone,
I came across this website via badmintoncentral.com. PaulSteward posted reply about technique in badminton, he refered to his website. I visit this site very often for the informative articles about technique and also the racket review articles.
Now something about myself.
my name is Joost Ridder. I am 22 years old and i come from Holland. (yes the land made out of cheese, wooden shoes, drugs and prostitutes😛 just kidding) I play badminton for about 5 years now with some time of due puberty. at the age of 20 i started picking badminton up. at this moment i am really busy with my internship at the fire department of Rotterdam. I am writing a whole new policy about Community Safety for them. i wanted to enrole myself for your badminton coaching weekend, but due a lack of time i can’t make it.
My current playing level is 1st class district in Holland. You don’t have anything about Dutch skill level ratings. If you rank all badminton players where A+is the catagorie where lin dan would fit in, A are the national players, B regional high level players, C regional, D low end regional, E recreational, F beginners. I would just fit in the B level.
Currently i am playing with a Victor Total inside wave 6000 and a Carlton vapour trail elite strung at 11kg. (that is about 24 punds) I am searching for a racket to replace my carlton vapour trail elite. I am leaning towards an arcsaber 8 dx, which i am hoping is slightly head heavy.
I am hoping that we could share experiences together, because i am realy interested in other ways of playing and coaching badminton then i know now.
greetings,
Joost

Hi Joost
Welcome to the forum.
Arc 8DX has a little weight in the head but not too much. I am using this racquet now.
If you like Victor racquets, then check out Bravesword 10 and 11. They aren’t too head heavy but play beautifully. Most of the Korean Thomas and Uber Cup teams were using Bravesword 11 this year.
I hope you find plenty of good articles and tips to help you improve your badminton. After all, that’s why we’re here!
To your success
Paul
Hi Paul,
I will go to a racketshop today, that has have both rackets on stock. I will choose between a bravesword 10 and a arcsaber 8 dx. I’m still leaning towards the arcsaber 8 dx the specs of this racket are more apealing to me.
i’ll let you know which one i have chosen. And if you like i can put my findings on the forum?
greeting,
Joost
(P.S sorry for my english, it’s not my first language)
