Hiya, I’m Jordan! I live in Lancashire near Preston and I’ll be 17 in July
Currently playing in county tournaments and at runshaw college badminton who are currently county champions. I’m very biased towards doubles play (both mens and mixed) but have a few bits of knowledge about singles too. I attend about 3 coaching sessions with my coach Laurie along with about one county league match per week or 2 weeks, and I have one college session per week.
My racket arsenal includes variety of numbers from Yonex. Including an Armortec 900 Technique (currently awaiting repair), an Arcsaber 10 and my current favourite, the Z-slash.
I pay a lot of attention to international-professional badminton and can pass opinions on most male players on the circuit.
Finally I’m an active PC user so expect to find me posting on most of the threads on the forum! 😀

Hi Jordan
It’s always good to be talking to up-and-coming players.
I have coached many former Lancashire county players. One or two started training with me when they were 9/10 and we had such brilliant times.
Sorry that I don’t know your coach, but there again that’s me. I rarely go to tournaments and have no connection to Lancashire these days in terms of county training. Pass on my regards because I have the deepest regard and admiration for anyone coaching high level juniors – it’s not easy but so rewarding.
When I re-connected with the game this time last year after 10 years away, I went to Cheshire as it was local to me. I did consider contacting Lancashire too, but after the first couple of emails didn’t get answered or bounced, I decided to focus over here. With hindsight this is probably a good thing as I don’t believe some organisors would be too pleased with me coaching in two camps!
I just started coaching two Cheshire under 17’s who you may know, although can’t say who they are on this forum. We’ve had three sessions so far and seen some major breakthroughs already. When you think they play gold standard, that’s really something. Managed to find a second in recovery for one of them, tweaked the overhead in the other and they’ve already increased power and accuracy. And, we haven’t really got going yet.
I’m looking forward to reading your comments and hopefully we’ll meet up in the year as you’re not too far away.
Paul
