Hello people, my name is Gavin and I am new to the forum, i always enjoy read the comments and thoughts but i thought i would make an account to join in.

A bit of back ground information is that I started to play badminton at a local club during the end of the summer period, the people there were not the greatest and therefore I won many of my game I played with a few exceptions of having a rubbish partner. None of the people are in my age group. Later on I moved to a different club after 3 weeks at the local club, I was given an average handicap than everyone else because my uncle brought me a new ArcSaber 8DX for my birthday present, meaning it made me look like I was much better, which I am not at the time when I was a beginner.

After 3 weeks at that club that significantly moved my handicap from 0 to -6, which most people found quite fascinating due to me playing there for only 3 weeks without no coaching just watching others play, now I play for my county and found a very good partner that we never knew before to being good friends.

Recently I played a match in a match for preliminary game with my partner at my second club against a different county pair, we choose each other and their pair to play with. One of them were in my school aswell. In the first game we completely got destroyed by 15-21, we didnt lose our hope and we kept fighting. When the scoreline was 4-16, I thought and told my partner to change rackets and tactics. We both changed to a head-heavy to a head-light racket and served high towards the smasher, he was forced to do overhead clears which didnt manage to reach the back of the court. We told our chance and smashed it several times to win the point. We managed to win the game 21-19 and 21-12, we left the opponants dazzled on how they lost.

I just want to say thank you to Paul and the people to this forum helping me choose a racket, string and tensions from their experiences. I know that each person is different in many ways but I took a chance to choose a racket that I know enjoy.

Thanks

Gavin
