Hello all, long time time player and fan from Scotland returning to action after 6 years or so out of action.

Ive been playing since I was 11, playing through primary and high school with my best achievement being my win against a scottish u19 player in 2 games when he was at my
school coaching!

I am a singles player predominantly but happy to play doubles on occasion. Happened to find this site when searching all things badminton and must say it is excellent. Those on the forum are informative and friendly and paul, great site with clear unbiased reviews, techniques and friendly atmosphere. Top class.

Just ordered 2 victor tk6000 based on your review so will let you know how I get on!!

Looking to get back to competitive play this year by joining lothians league and SBU tournaments in 2014. May also pop down for your residential weekend in May Paul if the better half allows!!

Anyway folks, great to meet you all!!

Hi Shibby

Many thanks for your comments and welcome along. I hope to read and respond to many of your questions in the coming year.

If you are going to conquer Scottish Champions then perhaps the May course would be too basic for you. Also remember we teach skill but a lot of doubles too as the majority of attendees are playing in clubs, league or social. Advanced course is for top division 2 or division 1 and above so this gives you something to consider. However, I'd love to see you on court.

I hope you like the TK6000's as much as I do. Sadly they are out of stock everywhere. A new batch arrived in Germany on Monday and they are already sold out too. The next batch arrive in February so I'm not sure when you will receive your new weapons. Did you test beforehand, perhaps with Mark?

Thanks also for your kind words regards my blog.

Paul

Hi Paul, thank you for the warm welcome!! Will be asking lots of questions in the upcoming weeks and months as I look forward to the new year!!

I havent actually tried the Tk6000, ordered after reading your review as it seemed to match what i was looking for. That and the mx90 however the slightly lighter racket will hopefully be a bit easier on my right arm as i suffer a little from tennis elbow following an injury. Im ashamed to say i did order from victor supplier in Asia as i just couldnt wait until February….my excitement got the better of me im afraid lol

You mention an advanced course? Whilst i dont think im at that level (yet) id certainly consider it….just gotta give myself a little time to get back into the swing of things after a long time off…

Thanks again for the welcome!

Ally

If you check out http://www.victor-sport.co.uk and go to the racket demo page, when it is updated in January you will find Mark Ulrich who is based in Scotland, near Glasgow I believe. Mark will be receiving the new rackets late February and will then have a full compliment of demo rackets for you to try, including MX90. If you know Mark then give him a call.

Our May course is already filling up at an astonishing rate and if this continues we will be full by the end of January – unbelievable! However, I'm expecting January to be a quiet month – it's the hangover month isn't it!

Looking forward to hearing more from you in 2014.

Paul

How's those TK6000's coming on Paul? Had mine on order since beginning on November and was hoping to get them for Christmas. Smile

Bob

TK6000 arrived in Germany on Monday and they were being despatched Tuesday/Wednesday. It takes 3 days to get to end destination so it's worth checking with Ben whether his arrived today.

Bob it's been a frustrating time for all of us. I am waiting on two TK6000's for somebody here and I had to forego having TK6000 as my rackets because there were none in stock and the batch that's just arrived were sold out too. So all I have is the demo which seems to spend so much time being used by others. It's out at the moment and a string has broken so I won't have the opportunity to play with it until mid January.

The difficulty with a new racket is nobody can predict how it will sell. Consequently, only initial small stocks are brought into Europe with a follow up supply and that's it. It the racket doesn't sell well it means there aren't too many on the shelves. However, demand for TK6000 has gone through the roof which has completely thrown the system.

The next batch are due in February and I have no idea how many will arrive. I may get some for me, otherwise I'll be checking out the new frames arriving in late January/early February and quite fancy the TK7000S.

Sorry I can't help more but this has been a most unusual and frustrating occurrence. Ben may know more than me.

Paul

By the way Bob, did you get my email as I didn't receive a response?

Bob

TK6000 arrived for me on Thursday and has now been restrung and the player collected yesterday. I hope you receive yours in time for Christmas.

Got my two tk6000 delivered today…really nice cloth racquet covers that come with them. Got them strung 23lbs with bg66um so well see how they are hopefully at the weekend. One thing i did love was the graphics. The metallic yellow and black looks brilliant and i could instantly notice the head heavy with the slightly more flexible shaft….cant wait. Will go nicely with the new Victor thermo bag santas getting me for xmas!!

And so today, after Ben’s gargantuan efforts to get them ready, I am the proud owner of 2 x TK6000’s. They were in my grasp for around five minutes, before being snatched away, wrapped and placed under the Christmas tree! I will have my best “surprised”face on for tomorrow morning and then roll on new year so I can give them (and me) the appropriate workout. Thanks again to Ben for his sterling work.
