In this video, I am reviewing the Yonex Nanoflare 800 Pro, a racket that has become a permanent fixture in my bag since its release in November 2023.

I’ll explore its specifications, compare it to its predecessor, and uncover why this racket has surprised even me with its exceptional performance.

Yonex Nanoflare 800 Pro Badminton Racket Review – Video Transcript

On this video I am reviewing the Yonex Nanoflare 800 Pro launched on 17th November 2023.

This racket has been permanently in my bag since then, and I have absolutely loved it.

This is a 4U G5 version, so that is the 4U depicts the weight which is between 80 & 84.5 grams, and the G5 is the smaller of the grip sizes on offer with Yonex in the UK. There is also a 3U G4 version of this racket and as we have the pro version, we also have the other versions such as the Tour, the Game, and the Play which we are very familiar with now coming from Yonex.

This is a stiff thin shaft with a wide beam aerodynamic frame. Weight at the top of the head but not as head heavy as the Nanoflare 1000 Pro.

So how does this play compared to the previous 800 that was on offer with Yonex?

The biggest difference of all is the head construction. We are seeing, a wide beam compared to a lot narrower frame, and this is heavier than the original 800 as well.

What is also different here and is new new to Yonex is the addition of an extra cross string in this zone which is sort of a lower end of the sweet spot of the racket which creates a unique feel so when that shuttle hits this racket it really does ping off with a lot more speed. Can’t explain why that is, possibility slightly denser string bed, but it just has got a fabulous feel to it, when you strike the shuttle.

I have really enjoyed using this racket so much so that it’s permanently in my bag.

I think that it is great for offensive work, so smashing from the rear court and all the power shots. Not quite got the punch of the 1000 pro, but for some people that slightly reduced weight in the head as makes a difference in terms of the speed of the hands, and for some they are able to hit that shuttle that little bit harder.

Brilliant mid court, great control in defence, all your mid court shots. Loved it around the net as well. Nice and fast, so I really really enjoyed this so much. I’m quite surprised to be honest. I didn’t expect that I would be saying this about a Nanoflare again.

It just shows how much more Yonex are doing with the technology on this series, and I’ll certainly be looking out for the next racket which comes out possibly the 700 and what they will do to that.

Some would say that this is a beefed up 700 in this current format. The original 700 was a slightly wider beam, but had a medium flex, and I’d say it would be a fair assumption to make that this is a a beefed up 700 with that extra, cross string, which has got that great impact on the string bed.

If you get the opportunity try one for yourself, absolutely fantastic racket.

This is the NanoFlare 800 Pro.
