For this one day course, my co-coach is Adam Shuter.
Adam is a former county player, and Level 2 coach who first qualified nearly 30 years ago.
As an advanced player, he brings a wealth of experience playing at a high level and I am looking forward to running this one day course with him.
Course Details
Date: Saturday 1st November 2025
Location: The Bemrose School, Uttoxeter New Road, Derby, DE22 3HU
Time: 9:15am – 4:55pm (arrive from 9am)
You will be on court for approx 6 3/4 hours, allowing for breaks.
Who is it for: Intermediate/advanced standard players (for more details please click here) looking to solve specific problems with your game.
Each player will be asked to provide 2 subjects they would like to cover – a form will be provided to send this information to Paul after you book your place.
Price: £130 per player, which includes court hire, coaching and feather shuttles

What Else Do You Need To Know?
As these are one day courses, please bring with you:
– plenty of water
– a packed lunch (there are no cafe facilities available on site. Kingsway retail park is a 5 minute drive away with access to a supermarket & a few coffee shops etc.)
– any other refreshments you prefer
Free parking available at the school (a map will be provided).
Learning new skills requires patience, and therefore you will find that repetition is the key to success, and is far less physically tiring than playing games. To learn, you need to see the correct way, understand the components of the skill and finally, feel the difference when you complete the skill. When you feel the shot, you are then able to repeat it and later, develop the speed to use in a game.
These one-day courses are specifically designed to answer some of the key questions I am asked by players, like you. There will be lots of time for questions throughout the day.
