Before I restring a badminton racket, there are several checks I undertake, which I consider to be critical in order to prolong the life of the new string I put in. I highly recommend you inspect your grommets, or ask your stringer to do this on your behalf, replacing damaged grommets if & when required. Doing this will reduce the risk of string breakage (but cannot eliminate it entirely).
This video covers the checks I perform.
